Food pantries are often the lowest-barrier entry point into the social services system and, for many neighbors, the first place they turn when they need help. The quality of that first interaction can shape whether someone feels welcomed, respected, and connected to additional resources. 

Join Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County for an overview of the Lancaster County Food Pantry Volunteer Training, a free, self-paced training designed to equip pantry volunteers with practical skills in trauma-informed service, cultural humility, effective communication, and reducing stigma. Participants will learn how the training was developed, implementation lessons, and how Community Action Agencies can strengthen volunteer engagement, improve the client experience, and use food assistance as a gateway to broader community supports.
